The Story

Why Coach Shark

Stay hungry. Work quietly. Move with purpose. Respect those who have earned it. Then trust the work and perform without hesitation.

The Name Is Earned

Being a Shark isn't claimed because somebody likes sharks or wears the logo. "You gotta pay your respect, you gotta put in your work." It's earned through work, consistency, discipline, performance, humility and character — and it has to be backed up every day.

Quiet, Smooth, Methodical

"You never heard a shark bark. You never even heard a shark talk. By the time you saw the shark, you already got bit." No wasted movement, no showing off, no announcing what you're about to do. Preparation shows up on its own when competition starts.

Stay Hungry

"Stay hungry. Shark life. You hungry for more, all day, every day." There's not a day a shark doesn't eat. Hunger here doesn't mean aggression — it means never becoming satisfied, never relying on talent alone, never believing you've already arrived.

Killer Instinct With Self-Control

How he carries himself is kindness and respect. The killer instinct shows up when he steps on the field. Calm mind, competitive heart — you don't need to act tough every minute of the day to be dangerous when it counts.

Aumakua, Mana and Aloha

The manō is his family aumakua — a guardian and spirit ancestor, not a mascot. When another competitor carries the same mana, the answer is "all respect to you." There's no beef, because it's all family. It's love. Compete hard, keep aloha.

Take Extra

"You can't just show up to practice and expect to be good. You gotta take extra." Running mechanics, footwork, body position, movement patterns and small technical errors rarely get corrected in team practice. That individual work is what separates athletes.

Player-Coach, Not Clipboard

"I'm still the player coach. I'm not just standing here with the clipboard. I'm gonna get down in the backpedal with you." He demonstrates the movement, the tempo, the positioning, the intensity and the standard — so athletes feel what it's supposed to look like.

Stay hungry. Shark life. There's not a day that a shark doesn't eat. We sharking — on the hunt, hungry for more.

The Shark Mindset

The Shark Mindset

Quiet. Smooth. Methodical. No wasted movement, no unnecessary talking — the work speaks.

Stay Hungry

There's not a day a shark doesn't eat. Never satisfied with where you are — always improving, always learning, always sharpening the skill.

Quiet Work

You don't have to talk about what you're going to do. Prepare, train, study, work. By the time they see the shark, they've already been bit.

Respect Is Earned

You gotta pay your respect and put in your work. The identity has to be backed up by consistency, discipline, humility and character.

Apex Standard

Being apex isn't bullying anybody. It's preparing like someone who intends to operate at the highest level — or staying at the bottom of the food chain.

It Never Turns Off

All day, every day. How you eat, sleep, recover, practice, speak, carry yourself and answer adversity all count.

Killer Instinct, Self-Control

Humble, calm and kind up here — then when it's time to compete, turn on the instinct. Controlled intensity, never emotional chaos.

Take Extra

You can't just show up to practice and expect to be good. Team practice can only do so much. The athlete has to want more.

We're Not Dolphins

Dolphins swim around making noise and playing. A shark has purpose. When it's time to work, work.

Three Lanes, One Standard

SHARK. SHARQ. P2.

SHARK is character off the field. SHARQ is the athlete on the field. P2 Pabillano Performance is the physical training, mechanics and recovery that build both.

Off The Field — Character

SHARK Philosophy

Who you are when nobody is keeping score: humble, respectful, upstanding.

  • SSportsmanship — compete hard without losing control of who you are. Respect the game. Know how to win and how to lose.
  • HHumbleness — a shark is powerful without advertising it. Know what you can do without telling everybody what you can do.
  • AAttitude — attitude controls how you meet training, adversity, mistakes, coaching and teammates. It comes before ability.
  • RRespect — for coaches, teammates, opponents, family, culture and the work. Respect is earned, never assumed.
  • KKindness — character and competition are different things. Be kind in life and relentless when it's time to compete.

On The Field — Athlete

SHARQ Methodology

Who you are when the whistle blows: the competitive qualities trained for game day.

  • SSpeed — usable game speed, not just straight-line testing numbers.
  • HHunger — the competitive want-to that shows up in every rep and every possession.
  • AAgility — change direction, redirect and stay in control at full tilt.
  • RReaction — read it, decide and go without hesitation.
  • QQuickness — first step, first move, first to the spot.

In The Lab — Physical Training

P2 Pabillano Performance

  • Physical Development

Strength, power and conditioning progressed to the athlete's training age.

  • Mechanics

  • Recovery

Mobility, stretching and structured recovery so output holds up across a season.
